Which book has changed your live?	I'm not sure that any one book has changed my life. Several books have, at certain times in my life, become my "favorite" for a number of years. "Gone With the Wind" was my favorite book when I was in my twenties. I also enjoy a variety of non-fiction and biographies.
Your favourite book today?	I don't have one specific favorite. I do re-read old favorites at times - it's almost like comfort food.
Which book do you like to give as a gift?	It depends on the recipient. I always give a Newberry or Caldecott award winner to a child that's age appropriate. For young adults or adults, I try to match books to either their interests or the stage of life they're currently in.

Which book to you consider totally unnecessary?	I'd have to go with the consensus that few books are actually "unnecessary". Personally, my least favorites are those which become increasingly "assembly line" - primarily those would be Danielle Steele, but authors in other genres are falling into this mode. An author today will have one or two great books (i.e., Grisham) but then they seem to simply get churned out, and ultimately read as though they're manufactured.

I believe that term implies that a writer has wasted their time when that is not so, regardless of subject or writing ability. Anyone who has written a book and had the temerity to have it published deserves more respect than that.
Which book would you like to write yourself?	I would love to write, however I do not have the discipline to do so. What I would write runs the gamut from romance to a simple story of life and being human (all flaws included).
Which book have you still not read yet?	If we are discussing only Ms. Gabaldon's books, I have not read Lord John and the Private Matter, nor any of her short stories.
Anything else?	Specifically directed to the Outlander series. I have read few books that come close to inducing the kind of feeling that Ms. Gabaldon induces with her characters. In my mind this book should and is ranked with such classics as The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. To Ms. Gabaldon, please keep writing and I will continue to enjoy your work. To the Publishing industry... we need more writing like this, that encompasses all of human nature including our strenghts, weaknesses, passion and courage.
